The Equator Spring (also known as Equatorial Coil) is the giant belt that provides all the momentum for countless gears in Clockwork Planet.
Appearance[]
The Equator Spring is a massive toothed ring with diameter many miles larger than the Clockwork Planet's own. Similar to the planet, the Spring itself appears to be a dull yellow color. When viewed at from the northern hemisphere, it appears to be spinning clockwise, against the rotation of the Earth. Implicitly, a witness from the southern hemisphere would claim it was spinning counterclockwise.
Overview[]
The Equator Spring draws power from the gravity of the Moon, distributing it among the Planet's Grids. As almost all automata draw power from the artificial gravity of the Grids, it can be said that the Equator Spring is what supplies the entire planet's energy.
